At the base of Dune 45 in Sossusvlei, this solitary tree has stood for decades — unchanging in form, yet constantly reshaped by the dance of light and time. Over the course of a single day, Adam photographed it more than a hundred times, patiently waiting as the Namibian desert revealed its many faces. The result is a study in stillness and change: Sunrise bathes the scene in soft, cool shadow, like the hush before the world fully wakes. Sunset ignites the dune behind it in bold, golden orange — the warmth of a day in full bloom. Twilight casts an ethereal red glow across the backdrop — a final flare before night returns.

Each photograph was shot on film, with no digital manipulation. The striking colour shifts are entirely natural, caused by the angle of the sun as it moves across the sky, reflecting off the massive dune behind the tree. What seems like three different worlds is, in truth, one place observed with presence.
