Nxai Pan Sunrise - One of a Kind

At dawn in Botswana’s Nxai Pan, a line of zebras emerges from a waterhole, their striped forms silhouetted against a sky painted in soft pinks, golds, and lavender. The warmth of the sunrise light bathes the scene in tones that complement any space, making Nxai Pan Sunrise a versatile yet striking choice for collectors.

FAQ's

Everything you need to know about "One of a Kind" photographs and our Collectors' Studio Sale.

A One of a Kind variation is a natural outcome of our meticulous in-house printing process for Limited Edition photographs.

Occasionally, a photograph will develop its own distinct character - a natural result of working with rich pigment inks on museum-grade cotton paper. While these works do not meet our exacting standards for inclusion in the numbered Limited Edition, they are far from waste.

Instead of discarding them, we set aside the very best of these unique variations for collectors who appreciate something truly individual.

Variations may include:

  • White specks: Microscopic flakes of ink that may lift during the printing process. These are almost always touched up perfectly and are generally invisible to the naked eye.
  • Cotton marks: Small imperfections in the paper itself - a natural occurrence with 100% cotton rag. We only sell these when they are positioned in the border area, which is usually covered by matting during framing.
  • Pressure marks or hairline scratches: Caused during handling, and almost always retouched to be virtually undetectable.
  • Border variations: Slightly reduced borders due to minor paper misalignment during setup, trimmed to remain consistent (though smaller than our standard 2cm or 5cm borders).

Where possible, our expert team uses archival materials to carefully retouch any variation so it ages consistently with the paper and ink. The result is an artwork that, to the naked eye, is virtually indistinguishable from a Limited Edition.

Given Adam’s unwavering commitment to quality, each One of a Kind is graded internally, and only A-grade pieces are offered in this collection. These natural variations do not affect the archival quality or longevity of the artwork.

Yes. If you’d like to view the variation before purchasing, email us at sales@rabinowitz-photography.com with the artwork name and size. As part of our quality control process, we film every artwork during packaging, and can provide a video showing the unique characteristics of your chosen piece.

Please note: stock is limited and sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once a One of a Kind variation is sold, it cannot be reproduced to order.

A One of a Kind variation is not part of the numbered Limited Edition, and will not count toward the edition’s total number. While the image is the same, subtle physical differences set it apart, making each variation unique.

Collectors often choose to own both - the numbered edition for its place in the official series, and a One of a Kind for its singular character.
