Namutoni camp borders Etosha National Park and was built into an old German fort. This may be why Adam chose to call this piece “Marching to Namutoni”, as the giraffes are reminiscent of the patrolling troops that used to march across the area protecting it. They are also marching all in unison, necks straight and legs extended like a marching parade, uniform and militaristic. The stark contrast and high key finish has an open color palette which allows it to fit into many different décor styles.
